“Create your own tools. Hybridize them in order to build unique things. Even the simplest tools can lead to new avenues of exploration. Remember, tools expand our capabilities, so the use of even the smallest of them can make a big difference.”
Taking as a starting point this fragment of An Incomplete Manifesto for Growth by Canadian designer Bruce Mau, Raw Color’s “Circular Color Tools” workshop aims to discover how to design and build new creative tools with which to generate graphic images based on color, kinetic energy and rotation.
Participants should question the meaning and functionality of existing tools and machines in order to end up dealing with a production process focused on experimentation and intuition. The goal is to generate one’s own “color tool” that combined with other elements and objects can create a new functionality.
